How It Works!

(Overview)

Step 1. Filming your skills

Have someone video you performing the specific skills that you wish to have analysed and receive specialist coaching for.

Skills that we provide specialist "Remote" Coaching services for are:

  • Free throw shooting

  • Mid Range Jump Shooting

  • Long Range (3 point) Shooting

See “Filming Your Skills” for "filming protocols"; "tips & hints" and detailed instructions on exactly “what” to film and from “which angles” to film to ensure that you provide us with the highest quality vision for clearer analysis.

Step 2. Capturing & Saving your video clips

Transfer the vision you have captured from your digital video camera to your computer then “save” the vision.

See “Capturing & Saving Video Files” for an easy to follow tutorial to assist you to:

  • Transfer the vision from your camera to your computer
  • Create short individual “video clips” of the skills you want analysed
  • Save your video clips as “video files” in .avi file format using Windows Movie Maker™ or similar software.

*Windows Movie Maker® is included with Microsoft Windows® XP and VISTA Software
If you are unfamiliar with how to transfer vision from your digital video camera to your computer and capture and save the vision as a file click on the appropriate link below. Hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised at how easy and user friendly this process is:

Step 3. Sending us your video clips

Options include:

  • Simply "uploading" your video clips to us "on-line" via our YouSendIt is a simple, user-friendly way to send large files on-line. It is so quick and simple to do after just a few easy to follow instructions.. account.
    Note:
You are not required to set up your own "YouSendIt" account; we provide you with password access to "our" Shoot'n Hoops online drop-box at YouSendIt. It's quick and easy; large files can be exchanged within "hours"!
  • Mailing us your “video files” either on CD; or on the original mini DV cassette via regular or express post.
This option is for those who either may not wish to edit the video files themselves, may not be in a hurry to receive their lessons, may be sending us vision of a "large group" or "team" of athletes at once, or just may not wish to utilise our "on-line" system.
Note: This is a slower option as delivery "both ways" can take several "days" or even "weeks" depending on where in the world you live. Additional charges may also apply if excessive postage and handling fees or extensive video editing are required.

See “Sending Video Files” for full details of options you have for sending us your vision for analysis.

Step 4. Analysis of your skills and production of “Video Lessons”

Our specialist coaches then work with your video files using our state of the art video analysis and coaching software to "observe and analyse your technique" and produce your personalised “Video Lessons”.

Video Lessons typically include combinations of instructional voice-over recordings, dual angle analysis, freeze frames and coloured lines and symbols drawn over the vision; all for the purpose of providing you with the most effective learning experience possible.

See our "Analysis of Your Skills and Production of Video Lessons" for more details and to view samples.

Step 5. Receiving your “Video Lessons”

After our specialist coaches have produced your personal “Video Lessons”, we can send you your lessons via the following methods:
