The Shoot'n Hoops® coaching system incorporates specialist coaching with the use of digital video technology to:
- help demonstrate and provide a clear mental picture of correct technique;
- allow "more detailed" observation and analysis than is capable with the naked eye;
- provide immediate, dual angle, "visual" feedback to the athlete.
In the hands of our experienced coaches; this tool greatly enhances the overall effectiveness of the coaching process and provides a learning experience far superior to traditional coaching methods alone.
Using our unique mobile video capture and processing unit which can be easily transported and set-up in minutes we are able to:
- simultaneously capture vision from multiple angles,
- quickly "edit" and "analyse" video captured,
- provide immediate slow motion or freeze frame analysis,
- provide a continuous "delayed" replay of skills performed,
- produce instructional print-outs with "still shot" images and teaching cues which the athlete can take home,
- create video lessons incorporating instructional voice overs, lines drawn on the vision, etc.
- produce a personal "video lesson CD" for the athlete to take home and view on their home computer,
all of which can be done quickly and effectively on-court at the time of the lesson!
The mobile video capture and processing unit developed by Shoot'n Hoops is a fantastic innovative coaching tool; which (when used by our experienced specialist coaches) provides a holistic skill development service which is second to none.
It is important to note however, that this type of tool is only as good as the coach using it!
Inexperienced coaches can sometimes provide athletes with "inaccurate", "inappropriate" or simply "too much" feedback causing confusion and "paralysis by analysis".
It is for this reason that Shoot'n Hoops only employs highly experienced and reputable specialist coaches with a sound understanding of the principles of biomechanics, skill acquisition and motor skill learning, to ensure that we provide the highest quality coaching service to our clients.
Mental skills training...
Having good "technique" is clearly a vitally important aspect of becoming a great and consistent shooter; however an array of different "technique" flaws can manifest themselves from time to time causing a "slump" in your shooting and effecting your confidence; self talk and focus! From time to time; some players need just as much help with the "psychological" aspect of "scoring" as they do with the actual "mechanics" of the shot. At Shoot'n Hoops we understand this, and offer a range of "mental skills training" techniques as required to assist players to improve focus, concentration and arousal control, to regain confidence, get out of a slump in performance, and develop a "scorer's mentality". |
