Frequently Asked Questions
Below is a list of "Frequently Asked Questions" regarding our “Remote Coaching" Service.
This list will be updated periodically so if you have a question which is not answered here please forward us your question via our "Contact Form".
Question: How many video lessons will I receive in a single “Virtual Coaching” session?
The learning of physical skills sometimes requires the relevant movements to be broken into parts (or subroutines) and taught in sequence (component by component), using “feedback” to shape and refine them into a smooth, efficient action.
The learning process is also sequential and athletes move through specific “phases” as they improve and progress from the “beginner” (cognitive) phase; through the “intermediate” (associative) phase to eventually the “advanced” (autonomous) phase.
To maximise coaching effectiveness; the “type” and “amount” of feedback and instruction provided to athletes at different phases of learning and different stages of skill development will vary. Sometimes providing “too much” feedback or feedback relating to an “advanced” component of the skill prematurely before the necessary “fundamental” components are mastered can have a detrimental effect and cause “paralysis by analysis”.
Therefore the actual number of “Video Lesson” files we produce for each client during a “Virtual Coaching Session” will vary according to the above mentioned factors, the “detail” of each lesson, and the number of different skills being evaluated in the session; however clients will typically receive approximately 4 to 6 detailed instructional “Video Lesson” files per "Virtual Coaching" session
Question: Do I have to send my video files and receive my lesson files via regular mail?
Unfortunately yes (at this time); however we are working on transforming this process into a totally "online" service in the near future where you can "upload" your video clips to us and download your lesson files (and viewer program) eliminating the need for the regular postal system.
If you would like to take advantage of a "totally on-line" remote coaching system; please let us know your thoughts/suggestions via our "Contact Form".
